Dad put on dormant spray today. This is a sulphur spray that helps keep the vines dormant a little while longer, in case we get another frost. This is a close up of a Seyval Blanc bud that is still dormant; picture taken yesterday. Posted by Picasa

How does the dormant spray work? Just curious. Joe

Joe, it forms a protective coating that helps keeps the buds tight, but more importantly it protects against diseases or fungi that have overwintered with the vine so that when the buds do break, they start healthy.
